In addition to these functions of Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros, the entity also assumes other activities within the area of the Multi-peril Agricultural Insurance, forest fire extinguishing accident insurance, nuclear insurance and others.
Article 9 of the Legal Statute establishes the possibility of the Consorcio assuming cover for the civil liability risk derived from a nuclear accident in certain cases.
The Consorcio has the legal authorisation to assume the cover for the civil liability risk derived from a nuclear accident occurring in Spain when the group of insurance organisations does not reach the minimum limit of liability set forth in the regulation, as well as acting as a reinsurer for the amount and manner determined by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprises.
