Consorcio is the insurer of last resource of compulsory motor car third-party liability insurance for vehicles rejected by the market, as well as for fleets of any public body that requesting this cover. It is also the guarantee fund for damages caused by unknown, uninsured or stolen vehicles.
All amounts are expressed in Nominal Euros, meaning that they are not subject to any updating process.
The situation reflected is that at 31 December 2024, except for FIVA data which are at December 31st of each year.
The amounts paid out and provisioned include indemnities, interests and costs, but not loss adjustment fees or fees for lawyers involved in the claim, or amounts recovered.
They are amounts that have been paid out or for which provision has been made for losses which are pending settlement, but not taking into account losses which have not yet been declared.
