How and who receives the compensation?
Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros will make the compensation payment directly to the beneficiaries (and only to them) and it will always be made by bank transfer.

FILING A PROPERTY DAMAGE CLAIM BY TELEPHONE-
How to file a property damage claim with Consorcio by telephone? What information must be provided? In order to file a claim for property damage, the policyholder or beneficiary, or their respective legal representatives may file the claim calling the telephone number 900 222 665 (from Spain only) or +34 952 367 042 (from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday). Our Call Centre is also available in English and French.
At the time of making the telephone call, it is essential to have the information indicated below at hand in order to provide it during the conversation:
- Insurance policy details: insurance company and policy number.
- Details about the person presenting the claim for compensation by telephone and about the policyholder, if these were to be different people: name and surnames or company name; Fiscal Identification Number or Tax ID; address and contact telephone numbers.
- Bank details for the payment of the compensation: The International Bank Account Number (24 digits) formed by two alphabet characters indicating the country and two control digits, bank entity number, branch number and current account number.
- In the case of damage to motor vehicles: make, model and registration number of the damaged vehicle. If it is in a workshop for repair, the name, address and telephone number of the workshop must be provided in order to speed up the damage appraisal.
At the end of the telephone conversation, the caller will be given the registration number that has been assigned to the claim (this number will also be sent by email or SMS), which should be used as identification for any information required or queries made regarding the claim.
Subsequently, the loss adjuster assigned by Consorcio to assess the damage will contact the claimant to agree on a visit and inspect the property.
In order to make this appraisal easier and speed up the processing of the claim, the indications shown below must be followed:
- Keep the remains of the damaged items at the loss adjuster's disposal and if this is not possible, take photographs before they are removed.
- Keep the invoices in the case of having had to make an urgent repair.
- Keep at hand, when the adjuster visits, the repair quotes and invoices for the damages and two copies (original and copy) of the policy and of the premium payment receipt corresponding to the period in which the damages have occurred, in order to be able to provide the adjuster with a copy of both documents, as well as copies of any receipt or bank document indicating the bank account IBAN (24 digits) to which the payment of the compensation has been requested.

- How to file a personal injury claim with Consorcio by telephone? What information must be provided?
If the case of personal injury (death; partial, total or absolute permanent disability; or temporary incapacity) caused by an extraordinary hazard, the policyholder, their legal representative, the insurance company with which the policy was contracted or the insurance agent or broker who intervened in the transaction may present the compensation claim for injuries caused due to extraordinary risks by calling the telephone number 900 222 665 (from Spain only) or +34 952 367 042 (from 9 am to 6 pm, from Monday to Friday). At the time of making the telephone call, it is essential to have the information indicated below at hand in order to provide it during the conversation:

Name of the insurance company with which the insurance was signed and the number of the policy or policies that entitle the holder to compensation by Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros. These policies might be:
- Life insurance policies that exclusively or mainly guarantee the risk of death, including those that also contemplate complementary guarantees for permanent partial, total or absolute disability or temporary incapacity.
- Individual or group accident insurance policies (those that include all the workers of a company, the passengers on a specific means of transport, the holders of credit cards or those whose wages pay cheques are directly deposited into a bank account...) as insured parties.
- Accident cover policies as might be a life insurance policy, a policy of the so-called "multi-risk" type or a motor vehicle insurance policy incorporating additional accident insurance cover (occupant insurance).
- Details of the affected policyholder and of the person presenting the communication, if they were to be different people: name and surnames or company name; Fiscal Identification Number or Tax ID; address and contact telephone numbers.
- Details for the payment of the compensation: the international code of his or her bank account IBAN (24 digits), made up of two alphabetical characters that identify the country and two control digits; the bank`s number; branch number and current account number.
On concluding the telephone conversation, the caller will be given the registration number assigned to their claim (this number will also be sent by email or SMS), which must be used as a reference for any further information required or any consultation to be made regarding the processing of the claim.

- In the case of the policyholder being injured, information to facilitate the payment of the compensation: international code of their bank account IBAN (24 digits), made up of two alphabet letters that identify the country and two control digits; bank number; branch number and current account number.
