Consorcio is the insurer of last resource of compulsory motor car third-party liability insurance for vehicles rejected by the market, as well as for fleets of any public body that requesting this cover. It is also the guarantee fund for damages caused by unknown, uninsured or stolen vehicles.
The Reasoned evaluation report set forth in the first additional provision of the Law 35/2015, of the 22nd of September, regarding the reform of the system for the appraisal of damages and injuries cased to people in traffic accidents has been published.
The report, which was issued by the Monitoring Committee mentioned in the aforementioned Law, of which the Consorcio de Compensacion de Seguros forms part, is aimed at analysing the start up of the legal evaluation system, in force since 2016, its legal and economic repercussions and the up-dating system of the amounts in question, as well as making suggestions for improvements.
