Reserve Fund for the Internationalisation Risks of the Spanish Economy

Reserve Fund for the Internationalisation Risks of the Spanish Economy

Within the area of State insurance cover for the risks associated to the operations that Spanish companies perform abroad, since January 2015 the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros has been the manager and administrator of the Reserve Fund for Internationalisation Risks (FRRI), as was entrusted to it by the Law 8/2014, of the 22nd of April, on State cover of the internationalisation risks of the Spanish economy, for which this fund was created.

According to this same regulation, the FRRI is attached to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprises by way of the Secretary of State for Trade.

With the taking on of the management of the FRRI funds, the Consorcio saw its role in the system for covering these risks increase significantly, since up to December 2014, its activities circumscribed the mere administration of the insurance funds.

On the other hand, the management function for the cover or insurer from the State is performed by the Compañía Española de Seguro de Crédito a la Exportación, SA (CESCE).
