CCS pays compensation in accordance with the insurance policy, in force on the date of the loss occurrence, which covers the affected vehicle. For the claims arising from the DANA of October 2024, and in application of the Tenth Additional Provision of Royal Decree-Law 8/2024, of 28 November, which adopts urgent complementary measures within the framework of the Plan for Immediate Response, Reconstruction and Relaunching to deal with the damage caused by the DANA (cut-off low system), in different municipalities between 28 October and 4 November 2024, which regulates the removal, storage and treatment of vehicles affected by the DANA, the vehicles are permanently deregistered by DGT (Directorate-General for Traffic) when the following cases occur:

• That the vehicles have been deposited in yards,
• That they have been subsequently transferred to an authorised vehicle treatment centre (CAT),
• That they have been assessed by CCS or the insurance companies that have signed the Special Operating Procedure (POE in Spanish),
• And that they have been considered a total loss for the purposes of the insurance taken out.

In these cases, CCS does not deduct vehicle wrecks from the insured’s compensation and the vehicle must be definitively deregistered with the DGT.

In the case of vehicles that do not meet the above conditions, CCS will deduct the vehicle wrecks from the compensation as indicated in the policy, the administrative status of the vehicle with the DGT being the one agreed between the owner and the buyer of the wrecks.

CCS is not subject to the regulations governing the procedure for applying and granting state aid.
