9. Una vez que mi vehículo ya ha sido valorado e indemnizado por el CCS, ¿puedo disponer del mismo o pertenece al CCS?, ¿se va a encargar el CCS de llevarlo a un desguace?

9. Once my vehicle has been assessed and compensated by CCS, is it at my disposal or does it belong to CCS? Will CCS be responsible for taking it to a scrapyard?

CCS, after assessing the damage, compensates in accordance with the insurance policy taken out for the damaged vehicle, without, at any time, acquiring ownership of the vehicle.

In the case of vehicles located in yards,, the local councils are responsible for the transfer (of vehicles classified in the triage as total loss for the purposes of the insurance policy taken out) to the authorised treatment centres - CAT (scrapyard).

In the case of vehicles in another location, once they have been assessed and classified as total loss, the insured can call the authorised treatment centres - CAT (scrapyard).

The authorised treatment centres (CAT) usually process the definitive cancellation of the registration of the vehicle in the Traffic Department records, however, we remind you that, for more information, the Directorate-General for Traffic (Spanish: Dirección General de Tráfico, DGT) has enabled a specific page for the management of simplified procedures for those affected by the DANA, DGT - Simplified procedures, where you can find more information on this subject.
