Consorcio is the insurer of last resource of compulsory motor car third-party liability insurance for vehicles rejected by the market, as well as for fleets of any public body that requesting this cover. It is also the guarantee fund for damages caused by unknown, uninsured or stolen vehicles.
As the direct insurer, the Consorcio is responsible, within the territory and to the quantitative limit of the compulsory insurance, for taking care of the compensation when damages occur to third parties caused by a vehicle insured by the Consorcio.
It is important to present the compensation claim as soon as possible at the Consorcio's Branch Office, in order for an expert appraiser to be able to value the material damages. The documentation to be presented may be consulted in the compensation claim section.
