Consultation will be made through the internet, from the web pages described below:
- The centres that subscribe to the CAS system will access the information through the address: https://cas.tirea.es
- The centres that do not subscribe to the CAS system will access through the address: www.consorseguros.es, and within that same address they will select the restricted area denominated "MEDICAL CENTRES".
Access must be applied for through sending the application model as stated in the section "access application model".
The data that must be supplied so as to consult the database:
- Date of accident: stating day, month and year.
-
Vehicle registration number: registration number of the vehicle that caused the traffic accident from which it is necessary to obtain information concerning where it is insured so that the medical centre can address the claim for the medical treatment to the company that insures said vehicle or in the case of it not being insured to the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros.
The registration number will be entered without hyphens or blank spaces and must follow one of the registration number formats authorised by the Directorate General of Traffic. Otherwise the system will not be able to give a response and the answer will be the following message "incorrect registration number format".
- The medical centre's reference number for the injured person: Handling of a case file relating to a person injured as a result of a road accident is a legal requirement for access to be allowed to the FIVA data by medical centres and emergency services. Therefore it is essential that the name of injured party or the case reference number be provided, either through a code assigned by the centre or through the full name of the person who has received the medical treatment.
Two types of consultation can be made:
-
On screen: If this option is selected an automatic reply will be obtained, online, which will contain the data included for the consultation plus those relating to the insurance company that insures the vehicle that caused the accident on the date of the claim; it will also show the code of the Directorate General of Insurance and Pension Funds that has been assigned to this company, its registered address and full name.
In the event of the same registration number appearing as insured on the date of the claim in more than one insurance company the response will contain the data of the different insurance companies that have provided information to the FIVA in respect of that registration number. If no insurance company has provided information on the registration number that was consulted the message in reply will be as follows: "NO DATA HAS BEEN FOUND FOR THIS CONSULTATION"
The information provided in the reply is that contained in the database at the time the consultation was made. If some days afterwards the same consultation is made and the insurance company has updated the information in the database the response can be different.
-
On screen and with certificate being issued by the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros: in those cases in which the medical centre needs to present the information to any form of body (understood to mean the Sub-Commission of Supervision and Arbitration, the Supervision and Arbitration Commission, or an administrative or judicial body) the centre must select some of the options in order to obtain a printed certificate in addition to the reply on screen.
This certificate is printed at the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros Central Services and is subsequently sent to the address that has been indicated (that of the centre's interlocutor or the requesting party). The field for the procedure number only needs to be completed when the case involves an incident that is being handled either administratively or judicially.
