Organisation and structure
The CCS' senior management is entrusted to its Board of Directors, which, presided over by whoever holds the position of General Manager of Insurance and Pension Funds, is made up of 14 members, with equal representation of the private insurance market and the General Administration of the State. The Board of Directors meets at least 11 times a year.
The Audit Commission, that gathers 3 times a year, and the Delegated Commission for the Winding-up Activity are subordinate to the Board of Directors.
Operationally, the entity is organised with General Management as the highest level, and six functional areas with Managerial status, but which are dependent on the General Management: Operations Management; Financial Management; Liquidation and Rehabilitation of Insurance Companies; Systems and Information Technology Management, Risk Management and the General Secretariat. The Internal Audit Service, the Policyholder Service, the Sub-directorate for Research and International Relations and the Sub-directorate for Agricultural Insurance are horizontal units reporting directly to the General Directorate.
However, the CCS's structure has been decentralised into 17 offices divided up into 13 regional branches all over Spain, which meet the target of bringing the processing of the matters closer to the insured parties.
